Well today is a new day and full of new discoveries. So much for my last post stating that Charis couldn't walk very well or for long. Now I'm thinking she was just plain tired and worn out yesterday... you look at the photos and you can decide for yourself!
She slept very well last night, never woke up at all, and was pleasant this morning as she was waking up. Charis seems to be a very compliant child (yea!) and is extremely patient with most things (yea again!). I guess she got used to being so in the orphanage. We hadn't heard her cry except tonight at bedtime, she was pretty much wide awake and didn't want to settle down so we tried just putting her in her crib. Well she didn't like that idea very much and slowly worked herself up to a pitiful cry.
Last night while talking to my parents on Skype, in which we and they could see video, I told her that was Pop Pop, and she tried to say it. This is the first word we've understood her to say, then today she was saying DaDa. She mimics everything Lyndsay (her idol) does both good and bad. It will be a good motivator for her to keep up with her Jie Jie, doing everything she does. Lyndsay adores her and tries very hard to be the little mother. This doesn't always work and sometimes gets her into trouble when she gets over zealous pushing us away so she can tend to her needs.
We went to the Civil Affairs Office today and did the official paperwork declaring Charis as our daughter. Then on to the Notary Office and we were done for the day. We all took a long nap this afternoon and went to dinner with the other two families at a Chinese restaurant. All the girls are doing well, it took the three year old the longest to settle down. She is still having some hard times, but she is improving dramatically with alot of love from her new mom.
That's all for tonight, we are touring a Bonsai garden tomorrow, will keep you posted.
Well it appears she not only walks, she runs! lol I love it! How blessed you are!! She is truly a blessing and I have so enjoyed seeing the pictures of her with Lyndsay.... sigh. beautiful...
